All schools served by the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center are invited annually to participate in our Math Tournament. Students in grades 5 through 8 compete in three rounds of testing in Addition/Subtraction, Multiplication/Division, Fractions/Decimals, Problem Solving, and Mental Computations. Students are awarded trophies for first place and ribbons for first through sixth places. This competition is a great way to contribute to our area’s academic challenges. Each year whichever school district has the most points (based on students placing higher in each category) will receive the John Evanosky Memorial Trophy to proudly display for the next school year.
At the conclusion of each Math Tournament an awards ceremony is held that parents are more than welcome to attend. This event normally takes place in May at Kent State Tuscarawas Campus in New Philadelphia, Ohio.
